WASHINGTON, DC, November 4, 2014 — The National LGBTQ Task Force Action Fund, the nation’s oldest lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) advocacy organization has been closely monitoring the U.S. Senate election results.

“We are disappointed but not surprised with the preliminary election results, which are a sobering reminder that the struggle for justice and equality for all is not over.

“The recent major court victories in favor of marriage equality prove that justice is on our side and that fear-mongering politicians plotting to roll back advances in civil rights will not be successful.

“Americans have worked tirelessly to ensure that freedom, fairness and equality is delivered. Our spirits remain high and we will redouble our efforts and be resolved to secure full freedom for LGBTQ people and their families.”

— Rev. Darlene Nipper, National LGBTQ Task Force Action Fund Deputy Executive Director.
