Karin J. Mitchell is a registered nurse and an Associate Attorney at Johnson, Graffe, Keay, Moniz & Wick, LLP, where she practices in the areas of health law, licensure, and medical malpractice defense. She has served on the Board of Rosehedge/MultiFaithWorks, a local non-profit which provided transitional and adult family homes for low-income patients diagnosed with HIV from 2013-2014. She was the Co-Chair of Equal Rights Washington, a state based equality organization, from 2009-2010, and a member of the ERW board beginning in in 2007. Also, she was the Treasurer for Verbena, a local LBT Health Advocacy organization, in 2006-2007, after joining the board in 2005. In 2012, Ms. Mitchell was a Fellow at the Seattle Mental Health Court representing homeless, mentally ill individuals charged with criminal misdemeanors. In 1996, Ms. Mitchell had the privilege of leading the President Eisenhower Citizen Ambassador Delegation to South Africa. Ms. Mitchell has lectured nationally and internationally and published various textbook chapters on issues in healthcare.
